Synopsis Invited Feedback Importance (/10, author rated :-) )
Its nice to have a rant but something needs to be said and peer-review as an institution is no longer fit for purpose and is damaging science and most importantly, undermining the scientific method. The scientific method has successfully piloted us in a relatively short time from dancing round bubbling cauldrons and burning people for holding to heretical views, all the way to the magnificent achievements of the last hundred years. It is now under threat from many sources. Social media bombards us with opinions with no supporting evidence and the process whereby we validate science by continually trying to falsify it if failing leaving us with no defences. These are dangerous times and may presage a new Dark Age.None yet11
